Role Overview
As a Platform Engineer, you'll be at the core of our technology team, focusing on:
- **Design and Develop**: Designing and developing services and APIs, primarily using Golang.
- **Collaborate**: Collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal user experience.
- **Code Quality**: Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- **Testing**: Creating and maintaining comprehensive unit tests.
- **Deployment**: Implementing and managing continuous deployment processes.
- **Team Spirit**: Demonstrating team spirit and initiative in an independent R&D environment.
- **Problem-Solving**: Engaging in creative problem-solving and creating long lasting solutions for our business.
- **Security**: Implementing best practices in software security and vulnerability management.
Role Requirements & Capabilities
We value agility and full-stack capabilities in our team. We're looking for individuals who exhibit the following competencies and attributes:
- **Educational Background**: Educational background in computer science, engineering, math, physics, IT, or related fields. Self-taught elite hackers are also welcome.
- **Self-Motivation**: Self-motivated, effective communicator, and capable of presenting and advocating for the team's work across different teams.
- **Code Quality**: A commitment to writing clean and high-quality code.
- **Learning and Mentorship**: Enthusiastic about learning, teaching, sparring, asking questions, and occasionally pair programming. Knowledge sharing is an essential part of our team's success.
- **Technical Proficiency**: Proficient in multiple programming languages; while our backends primarily use Golang, knowledge of Python, R, or JavaScript is advantageous.
- **Source Control**: Skilled in using GIT for source code control.
- **CI/CD**: Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools, such as CircleCI.
- **Database Knowledge**: Knowledge of relational databases, particularly Postgres and MariaDB.
- **Queue Technologies**: Experience with queue technologies like RabbitMQ or SQS.
- **Cloud Services**: Familiarity with AWS or Azure services.
- **Containerization**: Proficient in using Docker, Docker Compose. Knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus.
- **Architectures**: Understanding of event driven architectures and monorepo architectures.
- **Testing**: Proven experience in writing automated unit tests and integration tests.
- **Problem-Solving Skills**: Proactive, positive, and resilient in challenging situations, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for team success.
- **Teamwork**: Excellent communication skills and a strong preference for collaborative teamwork.
