We are looking for a dedicated Technical Lead DevSecOps Engineer to join our engineering community. Together we are improving and supporting the next generation of our platform. This role is perfect for experienced DevOps, DevSecOps or Site-Reliability Engineers who are hard-working and love to work as a team while building elegant and simple solutions that scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to team standards and workflows by developing proof of concepts, crafting clear documentation, and implementing proven DevOps methodologies.

  • Participate in daily operations including production deployments, urgent requests, and planned work while collaborating with cross-functional teams (DBAs, Developers, QA, Product, Architects).

  • Independently assess and prioritize incoming work requests, making critical decisions during periods of limited resource availability to maintain business continuity.

  • Identify and implement cloud infrastructure improvements to improve security, system reliability, and reduce costs, while following standard methodologies and organizational policies.

  • Apply infrastructure fundamentals (networking, routing, security, storage) and performance optimization techniques (load balancing, caching, CDN) to ensure system reliability, scalability, and availability.

  • Build vulnerability management processes using security tools (Azure Defender, SonarQube, Snyk, Qualys WAS), coordinating with security teams and external auditors.

  • Drive vulnerability remediation efforts by distributing findings to appropriate teams, tracking progress, and maintaining documentation of risk assessments and mitigation decisions.

  • Design and implement automated provisioning solutions across all environments, primarily using tools such as Terraform, Bash, PowerShell, and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure, databases, and application code management.

  • Advocate for DevOps practices by presenting arguments, cost-benefit analyses, and implementation strategies to Engineering Leadership.

  • Establish and maintain robust monitoring processes for proactive system health checks, anomaly detection, and alerting.

  • Support and collaborate with development teams, being a driver of the DevOps vision.


Role Requirements & Capabilities

In the role of Technical Lead DevSecOps Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing DevOps practices to enhance software system quality. Automation will be encouraged to support this objective and provide a world-class Developer Experience.

  • Proficient in English with strong written and verbal communication skills. This role involves collaborating locally in Porto and regularly interacting with international teams in the UK, India, and the USA.

  • Extensive understanding of Azure Cloud services, architecture patterns, and security standard methodologies.

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical challenges and proposed solutions to collaborators.

  • Experience crafting comprehensive technical documentation including architecture designs, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

  • Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and ARM templates to automate and manage cloud environments.

  • Advanced experience with CI/CD concepts and writing Azure DevOps Pipelines for deploying architecture and application code.

  • Proven experience in performance monitoring and optimization using tools like Grafana, Azure Monitor by bringing to bear Kusto Queries or similar solutions.

  • Ability to investigate and debug infrastructure and performance related issues.

  • Familiarity with software versioning control systems such as Azure DevOps Repositories, Git, Bitbucket.

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and minimum 8 years of hands-on DevSecOps experience including relevant DevOps experience.

  • Professional certifications in Azure (AZ-400, AZ-303/304/305) preferred.

  • Demonstrated dedication to personal and professional growth.

  • Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
